If you found us on the web, you either live here or are interested in a home in Elmont Place. You might also be wondering about the history behind the name Elmont. According to the City of Groveport website, it started with John S. Rarey and his horse Cruiser:

"In 1861, having achieved both professional and financial success, Rarey returned to Groveport bringing Cruiser with him. In 1862, he built Cedarlawn, a 24 room mansion that incorporated the existing brick home built by his father. The cost of construction was over $23,000. The home featured a landscaped lawn of cedar trees, shrubs and gardens. Groveport became internationally known as the home of John S. Rarey and Cedarlawn hosted many foreign visitors. In the 20th century, the mansion would become the elegant Elmont Hotel."

The place where Elmont Hotel sat then is currently known as the Groveport Madison Freshmen School on Main St in downtown Groveport.

Notice At the June 2024 meeting, a motion was made, seconded, and passed by members in attendance.

2025 fees have changed from 2024. Fees paid before May 31 are $125. Fees paid after June 1 will be $150.
